Target Hit: Miami's Positive Impact on the Local Community

This year, our Miami office took the lead, hitting their charity target and continuing to raise even more! As the first office to reach their goal, they’ve set an incredible example for everyone. Their amazing dedication is making a real difference in the community. We caught up with the Miami team to hear all about their fun journey, creative fundraising ideas, and what made this year's efforts so impactful.

Here's what our co-chairs of the committee, Kylie Leberman and Matt Thomas, had to say:

Tell us about the charity your office chose to support—why does it mean something to you?

“We chose to support Camillus House, a Miami-Dade County charity that provides humanitarian services to the local community. Camillus House serves the hungry, homeless, and forgotten by providing food, housing, and medical care. Supporting a local charity was super important to us as we aim to truly embed ourselves in Miami life.”

What was your fundraising goal, and how did you come up with that number?

“We set a goal at the beginning of the year to raise $1,000. We picked this number because, at the start of the year, we were a small team of six or seven people. We wanted to keep things realistic, knowing we’d grow, but not sure when. $1,000 felt like a solid target, and we managed to rally our family and friends to help us reach it!”

Why did you pick this charity for 2024? What drew you to it?

“We chose Camillus House as our office charity because homelessness is a growing issue across the U.S. We believe the best way to drive change is to start local! Camillus House offers housing programs and workforce development initiatives. Their hands-on approach to improving lives is a fantastic cause to get behind.”

What’s been your favorite moment or the most rewarding part of working on this charity project?

“Hitting our target halfway through the year was a huge highlight and a testament to the commitment of our team, their friends, and families. Our charity quiz night and mini-golf tournament were also great fun, bringing out some classic recruiter competitiveness!”

How did your team hit the target and make an impact in the community?

“We hit the target by keeping up with consistent quarterly events and maintaining a steady stream of fundraising through office fines. It was a team effort all the way!”

Did your team come up with any cool or creative fundraising ideas that you’d suggest to others?

“Fundraising ideas usually depend on how many people you can invite! Since we had a smaller office, we couldn’t host huge events, but we turned that into an advantage by inviting friends and family to create a lively atmosphere that helped raise more for charity. We kept our events simple and fun—quizzes were a hit, and our mini-golf tournament brought a lot of laughter!”

“One of my favorite ideas was teaming up with NYC’s race night event in Q1. Coming from New York, I’ve always loved race nights, so when they reached out to see if we wanted to host our own, we jumped on it! With St. Patrick’s Day around the corner, we got creative—dressing up as four-leaf clovers and holding a beach race. The NY office and the Board even picked which consultant they wanted to win, and all proceeds went to Camillus House!”

A Huge Shoutout!

A massive well done to our co-chairs of the committee, along with the entire Miami office for their hard work and commitment in reaching their charity target! Their enthusiasm and teamwork have truly set the bar high, inspiring us all to get involved and make a positive impact in our communities.
