LA Office Makes Waves: A Beach Cleanup with Surfrider Foundation
Last week, our LA office embarked on a mission to support their chosen charity, the Surfrider Foundation, and their efforts to protect the coastlines.
WHO IS SURFRIDER FOUNDATION?
The Surfrider Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and improving the health of the world's oceans, waves, and beaches, ensuring access for all now and in the future. Their goal is to create a world where clean water, vibrant beaches, and thriving marine ecosystems are enjoyed by everyone. Through their work and collaborative efforts, they inspire positive change and advocate for the preservation of our coastal environments.
WHAT DID WE GET UP TO?
Braving the sun and sand, our LA office came together to take part in a beach cleanup event. Armed with gloves and bags, they combed the shores, picking up litter and debris that threatened our coastlines. But it wasn't just about cleaning up – it was about making a difference.
Together, our LA office collected an incredible 19 pounds of trash but, their commitment didn't end there. With dedication and care, they carefully sorted through the collected waste, gathering valuable data. This information will be instrumental in supporting policy advocates, providing them with concrete numbers to bolster their coastal advocacy work, campaigns, and legislative initiatives.
A round of applause for our LA office for their dedication to making a positive impact on our coastlines, and to commemorate their amazing work, they celebrated by having a silent disco on the beach. Together, we can continue to protect these invaluable natural treasures for generations to come.
