10 for 10: Michael Georgiou

Our "10 for 10" interview series explores the lives of those who have spent an incredible ten years plus with us. We ask ten fun questions that highlight their LHi journey, favourite moments, and a lot of laughs! Plus, we’ll discover how they plan to use their 'gift of time'—will it be an epic month-long sabbatical or a shiny Rolex watch? 

This time, we’re excited to dive into the LHi adventure of our Chief Sales Officer, Michael Georgiou. 

What were your first impressions of LHi? 

"A Unique and Quirky company. The office was a converted apartment in a council estate with a bed in it. Good down to earth people with ambition."

If you had to pick one LHi moment, what has been your favourite over the past 10 years?

"Hard to say, been too many. Probably the incentive trip experiences to Croatia, St Anton, Vegas, Buenos Aires, New Orleans, Miami standout. So great to spend time with people on a personal level and form true friendships.

Or simply meeting Janna, my wife has probably been the best thing 😊.

In general though, it has just been the journey, people I have got to meet and amazing experiences in life the job has been able to give me, both in and out of work. Moving to NYC being an example."

What advice would you give to your 'Younger You'?

"1)  Whatever you do, do it well and it will open up future doors. Even if the job you are doing is not the job you want to do long-term, doing that job well will lead you to more opportunities.

2) Consistency doesn’t guarantee success, but not being consistent will guarantee not being successful."

What is your favourite thing about LHi?

"Obviously, I love the people and that is a big factor as they make the culture. However, Trust that the business will always try to do the right thing over profit and look after their people is a big factor too."

What are the biggest changes you’ve seen over the past 10+ years at LHi?

"Navigating Covid and everyone being remote when office culture is such a big part of LHi was a big challenge. Also the new challenges that come with constantly trying to do something we haven’t done before, but that is what makes it exciting."

Where did you go with your LHi Passport 5 years ago?

"LA to propose to Janna, Business Services Manager – She said Yes 😊"

What does the future hold for you at LHi?

"Making an impact in my current role, and creating new offering and services for our clients that accelerate and transform LHi to continue to grow."

Who has been your biggest inspiration at LHi? 

"Tom Glanfield – Most unique person I have met. What he has achieved is incredible to me."

What would you say to anyone thinking about joining LHi?

"If you fully commit and immerse yourself in the job and the company 100%, then you will get a lot back. Show your personality and be willing to work hard to achieve something great."

For 10 years at the company, you received LHi’s Gift of Time, the question is did you choose a luxury watch or 1-month paid leave?

"I took the month off. My Wife and I went around South America for a month and did an incredible trip, that was a once in a lifetime opportunity. That could technically be the best moment of LHi, but it felt more of a personal trip as just the two of us."
